| As an alternative to varsity sports, the Carleton College Club Tennis Team was formed to provide a competetive environment for the excess students, male and female, who were well qualified tennis players, but for whom there was no available positions on the varsity team. The club also accomodates those students who are interested in playing tennis and are talented enough to make the varsity team, but unable to commit the amount of time necessary to play varsity athletics. Normally, the club participates in at least 3 tournaments in the fall and winter, including the USTA Campus Championship - Northern, and a number of other friendly matches throughout the year. |
