Team His
The College of William & Mary Club Tennis Team was officially recognized as a sports club at W&M in 1987. Our club caters to both recreational and competitive players, helping those inexperienced players to improve, and providing a competitive atmosphere for those who still want to compete. We play teams from around Virginia and the surrounding states, as well as compete in the USTA Mid-Atlantic Tennis On Campus Series. We practice 3 times a week, with one of those practices designated only to the "A Team" or the competitive players. We encourage club players to play tennis as much as possible, whether it be a relaxed hitting session to an intense match. We set up a ladder each year to encourage match play and to generate a ranking for dual-team matches. We even invented (and some of us have perfected) an awesome game called "triples," which we rarely end a practice without playing. Off the tennis court, as a team, we play several co-rec intramural sports together (last year we played floor hockey, basketball, and soccer). We also schedule social events for the team and mixers with other sports clubs.
