Team Founded: 2003

The Rutgers University Tennis Club was founded in 2003.  It consists of both a recreational team and a competitive traveling team.  The RU Tennis Club has been active on campus by running tournaments and participating in club fairs to promote and generate interest in tennis at Rutgers University.  The team competed in the Middle States Tennis On Campus League until 2005, and has since competed in the Eastern Tennis On Campus League.  Since 2004, the team has participated in two USTA Campus Championship - Middle States tournaments, three USTA Campus Championship - Eastern tournaments, and the USTA National Campus Championship.  This past year marked the team’s greatest performance with a first ever tournament win at the 2008 Blue Hen Invitational Tournament.  Other notable tournament successes include back-to-back 3rd place finishes at the USTA Campus Championship - Eastern in 2007 and 2008, and a 5th place finish at the Citrus Invitational in 2008.
