| Texas A&M International University is a relatively young university and, until 4 years ago, did not offer much for tennis enthusiasts. The Tennis Club was founded one fine day when Rene Gonzalez decided he had to do something about the situation, and despite the fact the team would have to practice in the only public tennis courts in Laredo that were on the other side of town, he registered with Student Affairs and started recruting. Today, our e-mail list has over 60 contacts, and soon there are going to be tennis courts closer to the University. Also, this year our goal is to increase our level of participation in the Texas Tennis On Campus Series as well as our performance in them by creating more team unity. |
