| The University of Maryland Club Tennis Team was founded in early 2006. The team really started to develop in the 2006-2007 school year, participating in the USTA Campus Championship - Mid-Atlantic, the USTA Virginia Fall Invitational, and a few dual matches. In the fall of 2007, we hosted the first annual Maryland Club Tennis Fall Invitational, participated in 4 matches and 3 tournaments, and reached a record membership of 150+ people. In the spring of 2008, the team continued to participate in matches and tournaments, and started getting more of the members involved in dual matches. Maryland Club Tennis is open to everyone, regardless of skill level, or experience. There have been regular lessons for beginners, and drills and games for the intermediate and advanced players. |
