Team History
The UMass Tennis Club Team was founded as an effort to spur more recreational and competitive tennis on campus after the Division I Men's Tennis program was cut.  The following semester the original members formed a constitution, and became ratified as an official registered student orgination on campus.  Our team's mission statement is: The UMass Tennis Club exists for community members and students alike to compete with other tennis players in the area for recreation and enjoyment through organized tennis arrangements.

In addition to competing in the many dual matches and tournaments that are part of the New England Tennis On Campus Series, UMTC hosts it's own singles, doubles, and mixed doubles tournaments, hosts weekend play (a chance for all members of campus to come out and hit and find new partners), and utilizes a ladder system to spur on more competitive matches and help the selection committee choose which players compete in our bigger events.  Members have taken part in giving lessons to youth around the Pioneer Valley.
