Team History
South Carolina Club Tennis Team History
Kelly Lowe, Neal Robinson, and Jordan Temple formed the club in November 2006 in an effort to grow competitive and recreational tennis at the University of South Carolina.  Despite forming just six months before the 2007 USTA National Campus Championship, the club earned a spot in the 64 team field and won the copper bracket, coming in 49th place overall.  In 2008, the team improved upon the previous year's finish by 20 spots, earning a spot in the silver bracket and finishing in 29th place overall.  In 2009, the club came in third at the South Carolina Campus Championship, and then went on to place third at the USTA Campus Championship - Southern in Dothan, Alabama.  At the 2009 USTA National Campus Championship in Surprise, Arizona, the team placed 23rd.

South Carolina Club Tennis Team Mission Statement
Club Tennis at the University of South Carolina caters to both the highly competitive and recreational player.  We strive to produce an elite travel team that is among the best in the southeast on an annual basis.  At the same time we aim to provide recreational players with the opportunity to play tennis year-round.

South Carolina Club Tennis Team Practice Information
The competitive team practices twice a week for two hours at a time.  The women practice on Mondays, the men practice on Sundays, and there is a combined practice on Wednesdays.

The recreational team practice on Fridays and Tuesdays for 2-3 hours at a time.  Members of all levels attend these practices.  The practices begin with one big game where all the players come together, and then the palyers are divided into groups by skill level for games, clinics, and match-play.

South Carolina Club Tennis Team Travel Information
On select weekends (mostly during the spring semester) members of the team will travel to play against other schools and compete in tournaments.  Most trips last the entire weekend, but some are just day trips.  These competitions are a great opportunity for members to escape the academic pressures and develop friendships.  This past year the team traveled to Charleston, SC; Clemson, SC; Charlotte, N.C.; Athens, Ga.; Blacksburg, VA; Dothan, AL; and Phoeniz, AZ.
