| The University of Wisconsin - Whitewater Tennis Club was started in the fall of 2006 by Varsity Coach Frank Barnes and students Jim Kultgen and Jeff Boll. In the club's first year they were awarded the USTA Midwest Section Sportsmanship Award and USTA/NIRSA Midwest Section Institutional Tennis Ace Award. The Warhawks are the only NCAA DIII affiliated university to appear at both the 2007 and 2008 USTA National Campus Championship. The Warhawks are the largest of the 26 sport clubs at UW - Whitewater. The UW - Whitewater Tennis Club not only competes intercollegiately in the USTA Midwest section, but also provides on campus leagues for players of all abilities and experience levels. The club believes that as many students as possible should be offered the opportunity to be introduced to a lifetime sport. |
