| The USTA Campus Championship - Caribbean showed its first signs of growth during 2008. Prior to this year, the Championship was known by few universities. Through an aggressive flyering and ad campaign, as well as word of mouth, college students across the USTA Caribbean section have learned about the Championship and are interested in the fun and competitive event that uses the co-ed World Team Tennis format. All colleges and universities are invited to the USTA Campus Championship - Caribbean. The winning team receives an automatic bid to the USTA National Campus Championship and also receives a stipend from the USTA Caribbean Section to attend the National Championship. | The 2008 USTA Campus Championship – Caribbean was held March 1st at the San Juan Central Park. Four teams from four schools attended the event for their chance to compete for the title and an automatic bid to the 2008 USTA National Campus Championship. The University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez won the event by beating University of Puerto Rico - Ponce, 24-15. Third place was taken by the Interamerican University - Bayamón who beat University of Puerto Rico - Arecibo, 27-13.
