| The USTA Campus Championship - Intermountain is a fun and competitive event for collegiate club and intramural tennis teams from across the USTA Intermountain Section. The first annual Championship took place in 2006 and the event has been going strong for three years now! The Championship, which uses the exciting, dynamic, and co-ed World TeamTennis format, is the conclusion to a year of hard practices, dual matches, and tournaments for the teams. Teams of all skill levels and competitive natures are welcomed and encouraged to play! The team that wins the USTA Campus Championship - Intermountain receives an automatic bid to the USTA National Campus Championship. The 2008 USTA Campus Championship - Intermountain was held March 14-15 at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 3rd year for the tournament saw 10 teams from 5 schools attend from around the USTA Intermountain section for their chance to compete for the title and an automatic bid to the 2008 USTA National Campus Championship. Brigham Young University won the event by beating the former champs, University of Colorado at Boulder, 26-24. Third place was taken by BYU’s second team who defeated Colorado State University, 22-19. This year, the Intermountain Section had two automatic bids to the 2008 USTA National Campus Championship, therefore the 1st and 2nd place teams, BYU and CU, traveled to the National Championship in Cary, North Carolina. In addition, all of the participating teams at the USTA Campus Championship - Intermountain had excellent sportsmanship.
