2008 USTA Campus Championship - Intermountain Recap

The 2008 USTA Campus Championship - Intermountain was held March 14-15 at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The 3rd year for the tournament saw 10 teams from 5 schools attend from around the USTA Intermountain section for their chance to compete for the title and an automatic bid to the 2008 USTA National Campus Championship.

Brigham Young University won the event by beating the former champs, University of Colorado at Boulder, 26-24.  Third place was taken by BYU’s second team who defeated Colorado State University, 22-19.  This year, the Intermountain Section had two automatic bids to the 2008 USTA National Campus Championship, therefore the 1st and 2nd place teams, BYU and CU, traveled to the National Championship in Cary, North Carolina.

In addition, all of the participating teams at the USTA Campus Championship - Intermountain had excellent sportsmanship.  The Team Sportsmanship award eventually went to CU’s second team.
