| The USTA Campus Championship - Southern is a fun, competitive and exciting event for collegiate tennis club teams from across the USTA Southern Section. The first event took place in 2005 with only 7 teams from 6 schools and has grown to 24 teams from 19 unique schools! In 2008, the 4 teams who advanced to the Championship bracket were granted automatic bids to the USTA National Campus Championship and received a stipend from the USTA Southern Section to attend the National Championship. | The 2008 USTA Campus Championship - Southern was held March 1-2 at the Westgate Tennis Center in Dothan, Alabama. The 4th year for the tournament saw 24 teams representing 19 schools from across the USTA Southern Section compete for the title and an automatic bid to the 2008 USTA National Campus Championship. The University of Georgia took home the top prize by defeating LSU in the finals by a score of 19-14. Third place was won by North Carolina State who beat Clemson, 30-17.
