| The USTA Campus Championship - Southwest is a fun and competitive event for collegiate club and intramural tennis teams from across the USTA Southwest Section. This, the third annual Championship, uses the exciting, dynamic, and co-ed World TeamTennis format, and hosted 6 teams from 3 schools in 2008 and looks forward to promising growth in the years to come. The winning team is granted an automatic bid to the USTA National Campus Championship and receives a stipend from the USTA Southwest section to attend the National Championship. | The 2008 USTA Campus Championship - Southwest was held March 15-16 at the Tucson Racquet Club in Tucson, Ariz. Arizona State University, New Mexico State University, and the University of New Mexico each brought two teams to battle for the title. When the dust settled, the University of New Mexico prevailed over the other two schools and won the championship. Arizona State University came in second, and New Mexico State University third. All players were treated to lunch and dinner on Saturday, received tournament t-shirts, and the winning team received a trophy and medals.
