Thirty-two co-ed intramural and club tennis teams representing twenty-four colleges and universities around the country that will compete at the third annual USTA Tennis On Campus Fall Invitational, taking place at the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center on Hilton Head Island, S.C., Oct. 19-21. The winner and runner-up from the tournament will receive an automatic bid to compete for the national title at the 2013 USTA Tennis On Campus National Championship in Surprise, Ariz., April 11-13, 2013.

This event marks the third consecutive year that the USTA Tennis on Campus program has hosted a season-opening event. The event is designed to give students a chance to compete against club teams from other colleges to maximize their playing experience, as well as provide an opportunity to claim an automatic bid into the Tennis on Campus National Championship. During the Fall Invitational, students not only will have an opportunity to socialize with other teams, but network with representatives from both the Tennis Industry Association and the Professional Tennis Registry, to learn about career opportunities in tennis. Following the tournament, schools continue to compete around the country on a sectional level, within the USTA’s 17 sections.

“The annual Fall Invitational is a great way for the USTA to help these intramural tennis club programs kick off what has always turned out to be a great Tennis On Campus season,’ said Glenn Arrington, National Manager, USTA Tennis On Campus. “We are looking forward to these programs interacting with each other in a fun and competitive atmosphere throughout the tournament weekend. As the Tennis On Campus program grows and expands, so has this event, building tremendous momentum to an exciting season each year.”
