In 2016, Tennis On Campus fans across the country can get closer to the action than ever before – regardless of whether you’re on site in Cary, N.C., or at home on your couch.

For the first time in the tournament’s 17-year history, fans will be able to watch matches from the Tennis On Campus National Championship at Cary Tennis Park.

"The USTA Tennis On Campus National Championship provides a model platform to showcase the excitement, thrill and camaraderie of coed interscholastic team play,” USTA Tennis On Campus National Director Glenn Arrington said. “We hope that by streaming matches and sharing this experience with the players, fans and their respective campuses that we can build awareness and inspire others to participate in a college tennis activity - either at the varsity level, club sport level or intramural program at their school."

Live coverage kicks off on Friday with two-time defending champions UC Berkeley’s gold-bracket match against the University of Miami, the first of six matches from Courts 12 and 13 streamed on the USTA’s YouTube channel on Day 2 of the 64-team, three-day competition. On Saturday, the championship match and third-place match will be broadcast from the Championship Court from 2 p.m.

"It's incredibly exciting to bring something new to the tournament every year,” NIRSA Director of National Sports Programs Valerie McCutchan said. “Parents, family members and friends don't always have the opportunity to watch these athletes compete in tournaments across the country. We hope that by live streaming the National Championship, we will bridge the gap between the players and their families back home so that everyone feels part of the action.”
