NIRSA is the leading resource for professional and student development, education, and research in collegiate recreational sports. Established in 1950 at a meeting of 22 African-American men and women from 11 Historically Black Colleges at Dillard University, NIRSA now serves a network of more than 3,500 highly trained professionals, students, and Associate Members throughout the United States, Canada, and other countries. Started in 1985, the World TeamTennis Recreational League program features year-round leagues that have provided playing opportunities for more than 490,000 tennis players of all ages and abilities across the United States. WTT Recreational Leagues run year-round at public parks, tennis clubs, schools, college campuses, military bases, corporations, camps, residential communities, and tennis facilities in more than 1,000 U.S. cities. The format features co-ed teams competing in five sets - men's and women's doubles, men's and women's singles, and mixed doubles.
