Team Photo Texas A&M International University is a relatively young university and, until 4 years ago, did not offer much for tennis enthusiasts. The Tennis Club was founded one fine day when Rene Gonzalez decided he had to do something about the situation, and despite the fact the team would have to practice in the only public tennis courts in Laredo that were on the other side of town, he registered with Student Affairs and started recruting. Today, our e-mail list has over 60 contacts, and soon there are going to be tennis courts closer to the University. Also, this year our goal is to increase our level of participation in the Texas Tennis On Campus Series as well as our performance in them by creating more team unity.2010-2011 Accomplishments:
USTA Tennis on Campus Sectionals - Wimbledon Draw - 1st Place Silver Division
Valley Regional - 2nd Place
Corpus Christi Regional - 5th Place
College Station Regional - 7th Place
Austin Regional Participants

2007-2008 Accomplishments:
Texas Tennis On Campus Series Houston Event - 3rd Place in Division

2006-2007 Accomplishments:
USTA Campus Championship - Texas: Received Team Spirit Award

2005-2006 Accomplishments:
USTA National Campus Championship: Qualifier• Team works with the local CTA to grow the sport of tennis throughout the Laredo community.
• Team gives free tennis clinics to elementary and middle school children via the Jr. Team Tennis Local League.
• Team participates in QuickStart Tennis Events throughout the school year.
