Ashland University Tennis Team Back to Search

When I came to Ashland last year as a Freshman, there was a tennis team formed, but they didn't really do a whole lot as far as go to tournaments and have a lot of practices. I pretty much took the tennis team on by myself as a Freshman in 2009 to get more people involved. Last year we went to about 5 tournaments (didn't do so well) with our total of 6 people on the team, but at least we got out there and experienced what it was like to play against other schools. Coming back this year as president again, a total of 11 people came out to practices and started really showing interest in this club sport. Our goal for this year and upcoming years is to go to more tennis tournaments and try to make it to the USTA Campus Championship-Midwest. We're just trying to make ourselves better as a team.Our team really hasn't accomplished much. We are still trying to build as a team and try to get some more people involved. This year, we have the most people involved in club tennis then we ever have in past years. We're mostly trying to focus on getting better as players before we get involved in a lot of tennis tournaments.We are involved in community service such as:
-PAW (dog walking)
-St. Jude letter writing
-Habitat for Humanity (building houses)
